This Daruma was fired without a kiln, using branches and wood gathered from the mountains and burned in an open field. The black and gray hues are not artificially applied but are natural marks left by the ash and soot from the burning wood.

Open-fire firing is an ancient and primitive technique that has been passed down through generations. Through this method, I seek to capture the raw dialogue between fire and earth. The way the wood burns, the direction of the wind, and the movement of the ash—all these natural elements come together to create a one-of-a-kind expression.

This Daruma is born from embracing the uncontrollable forces of nature. It reflects the beauty found in transformation, the freedom of unrestricted expression, and the deep memory embedded in the land over time. Engulfed in flames and cradled by ash, it emerges with a quiet yet powerful presence.

・野焼ノ達磨
この達磨は窯を使わず、畑で山から拾った枝や木を燃やして焼成しました。黒やグレーの色は着色によるものではなく、燃えた木々の煤が自然に刻んだ跡です。

野焼きは、太古の時代から受け継がれてきた素朴で原始的な焼成方法です。私はこの技法を通じて、火と土が直接対話する瞬間を作品に刻み込みたいと考えました。薪の燃え方、風の流れ、灰の舞い方——これらすべての偶然が、唯一無二の表情を生み出します。

この達磨は、人の手では制御しきれない自然の力をそのまま受け入れることで生まれました。変化の中に宿る美しさ、制約のない自由な表現、そして長い時間をかけて蓄積された大地の記憶を映し出しています。炎に包まれ、灰に抱かれながら生まれたこの達磨は、静かでありながら力強い存在感を放ちます。
